The oval ball game

December 19th, 2011

On Saturday Graeme and I were pleased to sponsor a table as we enjoyed lunch at Petersfield Rugby Football Club before the hosts took on Farnborough RFC.

Over an enjoyable lunch we caught up with some old friends as well as making new ones, and then it was down to the serious business of watching the match. Both sides played some very good rugby to cheer us up on a cold but sunny afternoon. We even had the pleasure of watching former Scotland and Lions player Derek White come on as a second half replacement for Petersfield to score a try within a matter of seconds.  The result was rarely in doubt as Petersfield won 44-27, to make it a very happy clubhouse afterwards.  Farnborough cannot have been too upset as their 4 tries earned them a bonus point in the league.

In the photo you will see Graeme and myself in amongst the Petersfield RFC 1st XV after the match. In the front row is Christine Quar, who the lads insisted should have pride of place holding the ball.

We hope to make this entertaining afternoon a regular event and to continue to support Petersfield RFC.

Many thanks to Simon Taylor of Farnborough RFC for taking the photograph and sending it to us.

Walk this way …

It has been a time of changes at Graeme Quar & Co.  We have moved in to our new office in Petersfield, where we are now able to meet clients. Rest assured that we will still be able to offer you a cup of our fabled coffee!

At the same time, our IT system has also been completely overhauled. It took about 3 days, but we now have a new server and everyone has a brand new computer with all the latest software. It is always a pleasure to be using a new PC which boots up in an instant and is ready for action straight away. I timed it: a couple of weeks ago it took more than 5 minutes from switching on the computer in the morning to being ready to send an e-mail. Now it is less than 1 minute!
